I Love to Tell the Story

“...and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matt 28:20

The theme for Lutheran schools Week, March 2-9, 2014, is To Tell the Story. The theme is compelling because it does not say whose story; rather it provides opportunities to tell it in many ways from many points of view.

The purpose of Lutheran schools is to educate students within the framework of the Gospel. An important component of their curriculum is communication. Our students are fortunate to learn many ways to communicate using the story of salvation as the most important topic. There are many ways to tell a story speaking, writing, as a poem, a drama, singing, and dancing to name a few.

Who is telling the story? What does it mean to the story teller? Students in our Lutheran schools are learning in a Gospel centered environment. They have opportunities to tell the story based on their experiences.

Students who have recently come to know Jesus Christ may tell of their new found Friend. Whereas some of our youngest students may give a very straight forward announcement of who Jesus is and what He does for us.

Take the time this week to celebrate Lutheran schools, students and all who are connected with them. Recognize them and show appreciation for their efforts. May the Lord grant many blessings to our Lutheran schools and all who are associated with them.
