See what's happening this week @ St. Pauls!
Prayers and Well Wishes to Fred Beanblossom.
Fred had back surgery in Kearney last Wednesday.  He is doing well but will be in the hospital for a few days.

Prayers and Condolences to the family of Maynard Boltz.
Maynard passed away June 11 at the age of 87.  Services will be Friday, June 15 @ 10:30 a.m. at St. Pauls.

The Message:
This summer we are using a Bible translation by Professor Eugene Peterson called “The Message”.  This contemporary translation is a way to give us new insights in our own modern words.  As part of sermon preparation each week, your pastors use a variety of resources, such as commentaries, on-line BLOGS, and reading of the most accurate translation of the Bible, which is the New Revised Standard Version.  (Occasionally we even read some of it in Greek or Hebrew!) The links on the right will take you to The Message translations of this week's weekly readings.

Children's Drawings:
As part of the monthly themes we will be encouraging the children to participate and do a drawing each month which focuses on the monthly theme. For June, the theme is the Joy of Senior Ministry. This month we will be providing drawings for the children to color. These drawings emphasis the importance of worship and our music ministry. There is room for all of us can find a way to be a part of this ministry. The drawings will be displayed in the Gathering Area.

Donations for our Adopted "Habitat" Family:
As part of our work with Habitat for Humanity, we are sponsoring the Linares family, whose home our congregation has spent work days helping to construct. This sponsorship means that in the first weekend of June, we need you as a congregation to consult the donation board on display in the gathering area near the sanctuary. The donation board displays items that are needed. Take what you wish to provide from the board, go purchase that item, and bring it back to the display area. Thanks for being Christ to others.

Give 12 in 2012
The Lay Ministry team is issuing a challenge (and opportunity) to each member to find a way to give 12 hours of service in the year 2012. If you are now actively involved in the mission and ministry of St. Paul's you likely already meet this goal. If you are not currently involved, here is the opportunity to get started or to renew that involvement. Each month we will highlight a theme around the joy of serving, Extending the Joy... For June, the theme is Extending the Joy of Senior Ministry.

Women's Canoe/Kayak Trip:
Our annual trip to the Niobrara will be August 17-19. We will again be staying at Sunnybrook Camp in Valentine this year. Cost is approximately $100. This includes housing, canoe/kayak rental, gas for trip and small expenses needed for camping. This does not include dinner in Valentine Saturday night. You will enjoy plenty of good fellowship, canoeing or kayaking, the beauty of the river, and an incredible night sky. Please register with a $25 deposit made out to St Pauls Lutheran Church by July 8 to either Jill Strong or Molly Holcher. (Contact Jill at 391-1472 or Molly at 382-5758 with any questions.) No camping/canoeing or kayaking experience necessary.

Office Hours have Changed:
The church office hours have changed to Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m.-12:00, 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m.-12:00.

Children's Sermon:
We are looking for a few people who would occasionally give the children’s sermon in worship. The pastors would help you prepare for it, and you would be asked to do it once or twice a year.

Worship Service Recordings:
Both the 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. worship services are being recorded and are available on St. Pauls’ website. Copies of the service are also available on CD, contact Cariena Birchard if you would like a copy.
