Fifth Sunday after Pentecost

These readings are related to the Lectionary readings for this Sunday.

Prayer of the Day
Almighty and merciful God, we implore you to hear the prayers of your people. Be our strong defense against all harm and danger, that we may live and grow in faith and hope, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

Gospel Acclamation
Alleluia. Our Savior Jesus Christ has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light | through the gospel. Alleluia. (2 Tim. 1:10)

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

A big thank you goes out to everyone that helped with VBS. This year was a huge success with the most children in attendance this year at 117 children.

VBS OFFERING

We welcome your gifts to support the good work of our children at this year’s Vacation Bible School. In celebration of their “Everest” theme, our VBS children raised over $300 to support the ELCA’s Nepal earthquake relief work. By reaching their goal of $300, the children won the privilege of tossing water balloons at Pastor Bill. It was a big splash way of ending VBS. Your gifts can further their goal! Simply designate your envelope or check “VBS Earthquake Relief.”

PRAYER GARDEN MINISTRY

Pastor Ed is forming a Prayer Garden Ministry Team. We are looking for people who enjoy gardening and who would like exploring with Pastor Ed prayer practices people of all ages can do in the prayer garden. We are looking also for someone who like to take photos we can use in the promotion of the Prayer Garden. Please speak with Pastor Ed if you have questions or an interest in being part of this team.

There are many ways to get involved by contacting by joining with a KVC Nebraska Recruitment Coordinator, or going through an KVC Nebraska foster parent pre-service training.
