See what's happening this week @ St. Pauls!
Advent Evening Prayer Service:
This quiet service of gentle music and prayer is a wonderful interlude to the busy-ness of the season.  Plan to include the whole family, as people of all ages – children, too – will feel a deeper meaning of preparing for Christ’s birth.
For those who have experienced a loss in this past year, this service especially will be helpful in anticipating the holiday in a time of sadness.  God is our refuge and strength.

Children's Christmas Worship:
The children will be presenting Every Perfect Gift at the eleven o’clock worship time on Sunday, December 18. Join us as we join with the children in unwrapping the perfect gifts of God-joy, baptism, forgiveness, eternal life, and, of course, Jesus.

Stewardship:
A big thank you to all of you who have turned in your Commitment cards for 2012! For those of you who have not had a chance to send in your pledge, please consider doing so within the next couple of weeks. It is helpful for St. Pauls to have a rough estimate of income so various committees can plan for their 2012 mission work. If you have misplaced your Commitment card, please contact the church office so we can send one out to you. There are also copies in each pew for your convenience.
The Stewardship committee would like you to know how much we appreciate all that you give to St. Pauls Lutheran; through your time, talents, and financial giving. You and your gifts matter to St. Pauls!

Community Christmas Dinner:
There is a volunteer sign-up table in the Gathering Area.  Please take a look at all the opportunities to serve and find those that work for you.

Jonny Diaz Concert:
Sunday December 18 @ 7:00 p.m.  We will host a special Christmas concert by Christian recoding artist, Jonny Diaz.  No charge but he will accept a free will offering.  Bring your family and friends for a wonderful evening of music and celebration.

Social Ministry Christmas Project:
We are collecting phone cards, children’s books and toys for the Lakota Lutheran Center in Scottsbluff.  Our Sunday school children are participating as part of our Children’s Christmas Program.  There is a collection site in the Gathering Area, and children may bring their gifts to Sunday school.  We ask that the gifts NOT be wrapped.

Military Addresses:
We have had a request to publish addresses of friends and loved ones in the military for those who would like to send a card or letter of support. If you have a loved one currently serving in the military and would like to share their address so that others could send mail please let Jenny or Bob know.

Habitat For Humanity Cookie Walk:
Don’t forget the Habitat Cookie Walk, Sunday Dec. 4.

Worship Volunteers:
It is time to begin scheduling our worship volunteers for 2012 and we could always use some additional volunteers.  If you are able to serve in some way to assist our worship services please contact Bob Rye.

Sunday Morning Van Drivers:
We are again in need of people to pick up those wishing to attend worship but are in need of a ride.  If you could help with this ministry please contact Bob Rye at the church, 382-2973 or brye@stpaulsgi.org

Home Communion Deacons:
We are in need of people to serve as Home Communion Deacons.  We have many members unable to get to church who appreciate receiving communion occasionally.  Our volunteer deacons call on 3-4 members once every three months to share communion with them.  If this is something you could help with please contact Bob Rye, 382-2973 or brye@stpaulsgi.org

Worship Service Recordings:
The 9:00 a.m and 11:00 a.m. worship services are being recorded and is available on the’ website, http://www.stpaulsgi.com/listen  Copies of the service are also available on CD, contact Bob Rye if you would like a copy.
