Training for Volunteers for the Bishop Installation:
Thank you to all who have signed up to volunteer at the upcoming bishop installation service. This is a perfect time to showcase St. Pauls’ heart for service and hospitality. Who knows, our future pastor may be among those attending the installation! A one hour training meeting will be held twice: Wed. Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Garden Room and Sun. Sept 16 at 10:10 a.m. for the following groups: USHERS, GREETERS, ROVERS AND PARKING LOT ATTENDANTS. You will only need to attend ONE of these meetings. Volunteers Needed:
St. Pauls has been honored by being asked to host the installation of Bishop-Elect Brian Maas on Saturday, September 22. This is indeed a very rare opportunity, and we want to accomplish this in a way that honors the importance and significance of the event. With an anticipated 900 people in attendance, we have estimated that we will need over 100 volunteers on the day of the service and others before and after the event. Here is a list of some of the needs at this time: Setup and cleanup, shuttle drivers, parking lot attendants, volunteer worship coordinator, greeters, communion cleanup, communion set-up, communion “runners” to refill wafers, food volunteers, hosts to help with various groups such as choir, children in processional, etc., ushers (we will be seating in the Sanctuary, Chapel, and Gathering Area.), rovers to answer questions and direct people. Sign-up sheets are also available in the gathering area. Please see where you can help and contact Bob or Vicki Rye or Pastor Sylvia to volunteer. Thank you!
